Crain, age 83, of 2710 Linmar Circle, passed away on Sunday, May 22, 2011 in Ridgeway, SC.Born in Macon County, NC on March 21, 1928, Mr. Crain was a son of the late Edgar Benjamin Crane and Elsie Vinson Crain. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and in Japan. He retired from Builder Way, Inc. Following his retirement, he became the owner and operator of Crain Consulting. Mr. Crain was a member of the Church of the First Born and a former member of McDuffie Street Church of God serving as a sound engineer. Survivors include his children, Philip Crain of Starr, SC and Diane Crain of Anderson, SC; brother, Tom Crain of Chicago, IL; sisters, Carol Stone of Atlanta, GA, Patsy Crenshaw of Anderson, SC, Peggy Cary of Honea Path, SC and Edith Putnam of Anderson, SC and one granddaughter, Katie Crain.In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of 56 years, Bonnie Addison Crain; a brother, Dennis Crain, a sister, Ethel Lamb and step-father, Lloyd Crain.The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at 10:00 am at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel officiated by Reverend Cecil Albert.
