JULIAN GUNNELS December 27, 1926 - June 19, 2012 ANDERSON, SC Arthur Julian "A.J." Gunnels, age 85, husband of Jenny Gunnels, of 1501 East Greenville Street, Anderson, passed away on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at AnMed Health Medical Center. Born in Anderson, he was the son of the late Arthur H. Gunnels and the late Lila C. Gunnels. He was a graduate of Boys High School. He was owner of Gunnels Service Company. He was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church. In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by sons, Ken Gunnels and his wife Olena, Gene Gunnels and Steve Gunnels and his wife Melanie; a daughter, Brenda Hart and her husband Bud; brothers, James and Larry Gunnels; a sister, Virginia King; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Jan Carroll; a brother, Earl Gunnels; and a sister, Reba Clarke. The Graveside service to celebrate the life of Mr. Gunnels will be held on Thursday, June 21, 2012 at 11:00am at New Silver Brook Cemetery. Reverend Garrett Hart and Reverend Steve Silvey will officiate. The family will be at the home of his son, Steve Gunnels, 220 Hazelwood Avenue, Anderson and will gather for a time of visitation at the graveside following the service.
