She formerly worked for J. P. Stephens and Kmart Corporation and for many years worked in the family business, Durham Grocery Store in Sandy Springs. She was a member of Fants Grove Baptist Church where she was a teacher of the Ladies Sunday School class, member of the Choir and the W.M.U.Survivors include her husband, Hugh Durham of the home; sons, Robert Durham and his wife Michelle of Pendleton; Nathan Durham of the home; brothers, Randall and Larry Garland, both of La France; sisters, Shirley Evans of Sandy Springs and Joan Scarboro of Pendleton; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Frank Garland.The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 23, 2010 from 1:00 pm until 2:30 pm at Fants Grove Baptist Church with the funeral service following at 3:00 pm, officiated by the Reverend Robert Durham and Reverend Edward Bryson. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will be at the residence.
