June Gasaway Tolly, age 81, loving wife of the late G. Fred Tolly, Jr., passed away on December 29, 2017, at Brookdale Anderson. Born in Anderson, SC on August 1, 1936, June was the daughter of J. B. Gasaway and Marie Wilson Gasaway. June was a graduate of Girls High. She was owner of The June Bug dress shop, a member of many social groups, founding member of the Anderson Debutante Club, and a member of the Junior League. June was a beloved member of Brookdale Retirement Community where she will be missed. She was a dedicated member of First Presbyterian Church of Anderson. June is survived by her son George Fred Tolly III, and wife Sandi, of Anderson; two daughters, Ruth Marie Embler and her husband Marc, of Charleston, and Sissy Todd and her husband Monty, of Columbia. Also surviving are eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, June was preceded in death by five sisters. A Memorial Service will be held at First Presbyterian Church on Tuesday, January 2nd, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. with Dr. Dennis Tedder officiating. The family will receive friends in the Kirk following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to First Presbyterian Church of Anderson, 302 W. Whitner Street, Anderson, SC 29624.
