JUNE DIXON WAGNER
June Dixon Wagner, age 72, of 406 Van Martin Road, passed away on Sunday, July 13, 2014, at the Richard M. Campbell Veteran's Home. Born on February 26, 1942, she was the daughter of Lala Clyde Thornell Dixon of Prattville, AL, and the late Thomas Ray Dixon, Sr.
Following high school graduation she attended secretarial college in Montgomery, AL in 1962. Mrs. Wagner proudly served her country in the US Army where she achieved the rank of SP5 and was awarded the Good Conduct Medal. For most of her adult life, she was a home maker. When the family lived on a farm in Tyus, GA, June loved her many farm animals. She was an avid reader, and enjoyed arts and crafts and line dancing.
In addition to her mother, Mrs. Wagner is survived by her devoted husband, Mark W. Wagner of the residence; a daughter, April L. Rogers and her husband Phil, of Anderson; a brother, Thomas Ray Dixon, Jr. and wife, Jessie Faye of Prattville, AL; a sister, Faye Dixon Geiske and husband, John, of Prattville, AL; and 2 grandchildren, Kelly Elizabeth Rogers and Andrew Phillip Rogers, both of Anderson.
A memorial service to honor and celebrate the life of June Dixon Wagner will be held on Friday, July 18, 2014, at 11 a.m. at the Committal Shelter at M. J. "Dolly" Cooper Veteran's Cemetery, with Military Honors to be rendered by the Campbell Patriots. The family is at the residence and will receive friends at M. J. "Dolly" Cooper Veteran's Cemetery following the service.
