HOLAHANDECEMBER 5, 1919 - JanUARY 20, 2009ANDERSON, SC ' Katherine Englert Holahan, age 89, of North Pointe Assisted Living, passed away on Tuesday, January 20, 2009, at the AnMed Health Medical Center.Born in Brooklyn, NY on December 5, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Andrew John Englert and Helen C. Englert. Mrs. Holahan was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church where she was a member of the Hilltoppers and the Women's Club. She was a homemaker and for many years a volunteer for Meals on Wheels.Survivors include her husband, Joseph Myles Holahan, Jr., of the home; children: Christine Turner of Charleston, SC, Cathleen LaFave and husband, Jim, of Hickory, NC, Donald Francis Holahan and wife, Joanne, of Geneva, OH, Leo Andrew Holahan and wife, Julie, of Covington, GA, and Thomas A. Holahan and wife, Kimberly, of Anderson, SC; eight grand children and two great grandchild also survive. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a son, Joseph M. Holahan, III; and two brothers: Andrew Englert and Harold Englert.A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 24, 2009, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church conducted by Father Hayden Vaverek. Interment will follow in New Silver Brook Cemetery.The family will receive friends in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home on Friday, January 23, 2009, from 6:00 pm until 7:30 pm.
