Standridge Road, wife of the late Elbert Price Corley, died Tuesday, March 3, 2009.Born in Tellico Plains, TN, she was the daughter of the late Robert Brown and Gussie Lovin Brown. She grew up in Andrews, NC and was a graduate of Andrews High School. After moving to Anderson, SC in 1952, she was in the banking industry for over 34 years. She was a former employee of the South Carolina National Bank and Wachovia Bank. Mrs. Corley was a member of The Order of the Eastern Starr and was an avid gardener.Survivors include her daughter, Cheryl Corley Pierce and two grandchildren, Brad Pierce and Katheryn Pierce, of Anderson; sisters, Mary Sue Stancil of Anderson and Betty Ruth Pierce of Oneill, NE.In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Joe and John Brown and two sisters, Neil Hicks and Kate Cogdile.A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, March 6, 2009 at 2:00 pm at Forest Lawn Memorial Park officiated by the Reverend Dr. Jack Couch.
