Kathleen 'MeMe' Burnette Partain, 84, passed away on Friday, June 15, 2018, at Rainey Hospice House surrounded by her beloved family. Born in Anderson, SC, on July 16, 1933, Kathleen was the daughter of the late Alex Burnette and Lula Pelfrey Burnette. Kathleen worked as a retail clerk for Walmart. She attended Taylor Memorial Pentecostal Holiness Church. She is survived by her children, Shirley Smith (Tim) of Williamston, Charles F. Partain (Melissa) and Ray E. Partain (Donna), both of Anderson; half-sister, Helen Craft; seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; her very special friend Jack Bobo and son Chris; and her cat Cecil. Kathleen was known as 'MeMe' to all of her grandchildren and others who knew her. In addition to her parents, Kathleen was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Hubert Partain; and her brothers, James and Junior Gable. The family will be at the residence of Shirley and Tim Smith, 5215 Hwy. 81 N., Williamston, SC 29697 located in the Piercetown Community, and will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Monday, June 18, 2018, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 19 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Rev. Brent Lollis, Rev. Sam Duncan, and friend Norman Kirkwood officiating. Interment will follow at New Silver Brook Cemetery. Flowers will be accepted.
