SIMMONSJULY 12, 1910 - May 3, 2009ANDERSON, SC ' Kathleen Carey Simmons, age 98, formerly of Brookhaven Drive, passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2009, at the Rainey Hospice House.Born in Anderson, SC on July 12, 1910, she was a daughter of the late William Carey and Mattie Bowman Carey. She retired from Wellington Mills and was a member of Taylor Memorial Pentecostal Holiness Church where she was a member of the Margaret Little Sunday School Class and the Golden Age Club. She was also the last surviving member of her immediate family.Survivors include her son, Dennis B. Simmons and wife, Susanne of Anderson; and a granddaughter, Jennifer Denise Simmons, of Powdersville.In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, W. Furman Simmons; her sisters: Maggi Lee McCullough, Corene Gleason, and Annie Hastings; and her brothers: Amie Carey, Talmadge Carey, Curtis Carey, Reeves Carey, John Sell Carey, and S.T. Carey.The Funeral Service will be held at 11am on Tuesday, May 5, 2009, in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home conducted by the Reverend Brent Lollis. Interment will follow in New Silver Brook Cemetery.
