Kathleen Hinson Wilson, 96, of Clemson passed away on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at Clemson Downs. Born June 5, 1922 in Fair Bluff, NC, to the late Weldon and Rhoda Strickland Hinson. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, John Henry Wilson; sisters, Bettie Howell, Dorothy Irons and Uldine Jordan and brother, Jasper Hinson. She was a member of Pendleton Presbyterian Church. She was a personal secretary of the Commanding General of the Huntsville, AL Missile Command. She is survived by her loving and devoted companion, James Binder; step-daughters, Susan Evatt (Perry) of Greenville and Carolyn Grogan (John) of Housatonic, MA; sister, Virginia Benson of Des Moines, IA; nieces, Devona Jo Strawn of Effingham, SC, Jean Vegod of Pendleton, SC, Connie Threet of Hampshire, TN, Robin Gardner of Johnston, IA, Christine Desormeau, Joyce Lane of Jacksonville, FL, Karen Critser of Jacksonville, FL and Mary Ann Clark of Kernesville, NC; nephews, David Hinson of Norfolk, VA, Robert Howell of Pendleton, SC, Steven Benson of Indianola, IA and Charles Dorman of Leesburg, FL; grandchildren, Katharine Staron, Jennifer Grogan, John J. Grogan and Perry W. Evatt. The family will receive friends from 3-5pm Sunday, January 27, 2019 at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 11:00 am Monday at Pendleton Presbyterian Church with Pastor Ernest Gray and Rev. Perry Evatt officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
