Born in Anderson, SC on August 20, 1951, Mrs. Bethke was a daughter of Dorothy Dunn Maxwell of Antreville and the late Julian 'Luke' Maxwell, Sr. She was member of Mount Carmel Baptist Church in Douglasville, GA and attended Asaville Baptist Church. She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother.Survivors include her husband, Michael Bethke of the home; daughter, Laura Todd and her son, Drake Todd of Commerce, GA; step-son, Michael Bethke and his wife, Kami and their children, Blaine and Riley of Douglasville, GA; step-daughter, Michelle Spears and her husband, Scott and their son, Daulton of Douglasville, GA; mother, Dorothy Dunn Maxwell of Antreville, SC; brother, Phillip Maxwell of Townville, SC; sisters, Dale Brown of Anderson and Karen Skelton of Hartwell, GA.In addition to her father, she was predeceased by a brother, Julian Maxwell, Jr.A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2008 at 3:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home officiated by the Reverends Harold Walters and Danny Moody.The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621.A message of condolence may be sent to the family by visitingwww.mcdougaldfuneralhome.comThe McDougald Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
