Kathryn Holcombe McAlister Martin, age 93, of Iva, SC, went home to be with her Lord on Friday, September 16, 2022, at her residence. Born May 30, 1929, in Stephens County, GA, she was the daughter of the late William Parker Holcombe and Emeline Williams. Kathryn retired from Singer after twenty-four and a half years of service and was a devoted member of Carswell Baptist Church. She was greatly loved by her family and will be missed. However, we are confident that she is with the Lord and many other family members in Heaven. She is survived by her son, Charles Ray McAlister (Martha); daughter, Ellen Joyce Moore (Rev. Dr. Jack Moore); sister, Coralee Meredith; grandchildren, Joy Moore Ethredge (Chad), Julie Moore Giordano (Kevin), Jessica Moore Epp (Ryan), Christine McAlister Lewis (Alex), and Matthew McAlister (Brandi); and 19 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Ralph McAlister, and later her second husband, Benjamin Henry Martin; brothers, Joe and Henry Holcombe; sister, Mary Frances Carlton; and grandchildren, Kathy and Elaine McAlister. The family will receive friends Monday, September 19, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Carswell Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow visitation at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Jack Moore and Rev. Hudson White officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, we appreciate your thoughts and prayers.
