Kathy Lynn Hunnicutt Gillespie, age 57, passed away on Thursday, October 8, 2015 at her residence. Born in Anderson, SC, she was the daughter of the late William Robert Hunnicutt and the late Alma Beatrice Hendrix Hunnicutt. She was employed with Toccoa Nursing Home as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Kathy was a member of Memorial Grace Baptist Church in Royston, GA. She is survived by her husband, Wallace Gillespie; two sons, David Wayne Simpson, of Lavonia, GA and Charles Gillespie, of Elberton, GA; five daughters, Angela Lynn Simpson, of Greenwood, SC, Jennifer Darlene Gillespie, of Elberton, GA, Renea Simpson Durrence, Statesboro, GA, Samantha Saxon, of Elberton, GA, and Darla Gillespie, of Salemburg, NC; five sisters, Mary Ladd, of Pendleton, SC, Barbara Price, of Anderson, SC, Faye Beard, of Westminster, SC, Linda Sue Todd, of Benton, AR, and Patsy Cann, of Abbeville, SC; 20 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. The Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home on Saturday, October 10, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Andy Huff officiating. The family will be at the residence and will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday before the service from 12:00 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cancer Association of Anderson, 215 East Calhoun Street, Anderson, SC 29621.
