Main Street Anderson, SC 29621 864-224-4343OBITUARY W/ PHOTO KATIE WHEELER January 25, 1982 - June 9, 2007ANDERSON, SCKatie Amanda Wheeler, 25, beloved daughter of James and Sharon Butts Wheeler, of Anderson, went to be with Jesus on Saturday, June 9, 2007, after a long and very courageous battle with a rare form of thyroid cancer.Katie was born on January 25, 1982 in Anderson. She was a 2000 graduate of Westside High School and was a former Internet Coordinator with Fairway Ford of Anderson. She was a talented artist and designer and was currently pursuing an art degree. Katie was a member of Andersonville Baptist Church and attended New Spring Church.Left to cherish her memory are her parents and two sisters, Kristy Wheeler, and Kelly Wheeler Green and her husband Brian, all of Anderson, who stood by her during her most difficult moments. A niece, Emilee Green, who she cherished and adored, also survives. Along with her family, Katie leaves behind her fianc' 'the love of her life' Clint Ridgeway of Williamston.She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Ed and Mattie Wheeler and her maternal grandparents, Lem and Mae Butts.Katie was an encouragement and inspiration to all who knew her. Her greatest desire was to help others by researching other rare forms of cancer and making donations toward further research. Her smile and her loving personality will be missed by her many friends and family members.The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, June 12, 2007 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home officiated by Reverend Julien Crowe.
