Kecia Russell Burkart, age 56, of Anderson, SC, passed away Thursday, August 4, 2022. Born August 18, 1965 in Colorado Springs, CO, she was the daughter of Terry E. Russell and Sylvia Sue Russell. Kecia was a 1983 graduate of T.L. Hanna High School and a graduate of Lander University where she earned her bachelor's degree in marketing. She enjoyed a career as a realtor in the Anderson area for 20 years having previously worked with Keller Williams and most recently The Powell Group. Kecia believed her greatest accomplishment was becoming a mom to her son Connor in 2000 and it was her favorite role in life. She was very active in the PTA at Calhoun Elementary and relished being involved with any activity he participated in. Kecia and Connor also enjoyed doing community service together and enjoyed time serving at The Lot Project. Her favorite place to be was at the beach, especially Isle of Palms. Kecia loved animals and was a passionate dog owner. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her beloved son, Connor Russell Burkart; sister, Amy G. Broome and brother-in-law, Brian Broome; nephew Noah K. Maroney; and niece Kensley G. Maroney. The family will receive friends, Tuesday, August 16, 2022 from 6:00-8:00 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. A private service will be held.
