Kenneth Richard Poole, age 68, passed away on Easter Sunday, April 16, 2017 at the Rainey Hospice House. Born in Anderson, SC on August 10, 1948, he was the son of the late Floyd Roscoe Poole and the late Florence Opal Farr Whitten. He proudly served two tours in the United States Army during Vietnam. He was self-employed in the construction industry. Ken enjoyed many hobbies including cards, pool, and golf, but his family brought the most enjoyment to his life and will always be remembered as a kind, loving, and generous husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He is survived by his children, Stanley Robert Poole, of Anderson, SC, Teresa Floyd Kinley (Ricky Floyd), Townville, SC, Tina Poole, of Iva, SC, Whitney Malisa Rhea (Lorenzo Jibril), of Anderson, SC, and Josh Poole, of Anderson, SC; his caring partner of 13 years, Donna Moss; a brother, Donnie Poole, of Anderson, SC; a sister, Brenda Dyar, of Anderson, SC; nine grandchildren, Chad, Kristi, Shawna, Nikki, Chasity, Canaan, Alexis, Raymond, and Crystal; and 15 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy Ann Sammons Poole; a brother, Steve Poole; and a sister, Sharon Burdette; and a step-father, John H. Whitten. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with military honors. Reverend David Stansell will officiate the services. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum.
