Mr. Kenneth "Ken" John Witcher, 74, of 208 Wren Way, Anderson, SC died on Thursday, September 4th, 2015 at his home. He was born to the late John and Annie Bowen Witcher on February 17th, 1941 in Anderson, SC. Ken graduated from Boys High School and later attended Anderson College where he earned his associates degree. He was a sales representative for several textile companies before he retired and worked part-time with Belk Department Store in Anderson. He proudly served his country with the US Army Reserves and was a member of Orville Baptist Church. Ken is survived by his loving wife: Catherine B. Witcher of their home; a daughter: Kristi Witcher Shirley and her husband James; and a son: Jonathan Witcher; four grandchildren: Carson and Emma Shirley and Brantley and Hope Witcher; and a longtime friend: Ronnie Evans who was a great help during his illness. In addition to his parents Ken was preceded in death by his daughter: Julia Ann Witcher. A funeral service will be held at 3:00pm Saturday, September 5th, 2015 in the chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with the Rev. Bob Burriss, Speaker James Burriss, and Speaker James Shirley officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Anderson. At other times the family will be at their residence: 208 Wren Way, Anderson, SC. The Witcher family will receive friends from 1:30-2:30pm Saturday prior to the service at the funeral home.
