Kenneth Lee Best, age 95, of Anderson, SC, passed away Sunday, February 6, 2022, at his home with his wife by his side.
Born February 13, 1926, in Metamora, MI, he was the son of the late Frank Best and Hazel Sanborn Best.
Kenneth began a long and highly decorated military career in the United States Navy as part of the Seabees and served during WWII where he saw action at the Battle of Iwo Jima. Following the Navy, he began a career in the Air Force serving during the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. After his retirement from the military, he began a career at the Federal Reserve as a computer analyst. Kenneth was a member of the American Legion and the VFW.
He is survived by his loving wife, Betty Stephens Best; son, Larry R. Best (Phornphan "Paula") of Vienna, VA; daughter, Barbara Morgan (Dennis) of Hartwell, GA; stepsons, Jason Burney of Anderson, SC, and Nick Burney (Cynthia) of Concord, GA; stepdaughter, Tammy Burney of Flowery Branch, GA; brothers, Keith Best (Ida) of Rochester, NY, and Dean Best (Joanne) of Houghton Lake, MI; sister, Pat Bracy (Don) of Michigan; multiple grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Morris.
A funeral service with military honors will be held at a later date at M.J. Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery.

The family will be at their respective homes.
