Kenneth Ray Buchanan, age 82, of Simpsonville, SC, formerly of La France, SC, passed away on Monday, September 6, 2021. Born August 20, 1939, he was the son of the late Edgar Frank Buchanan and Dollie Price Buchanan Durham. Ken was a proud 1961 graduate of Clemson University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Textile Management. He also received a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of South Carolina. After serving in the United States Army, Ken worked in the finance industry in many capacities over his distinguished career, including serving as Project Finance Controller with Walk-Haydel Engineering Company in Kenner, LA; Cost Controller Manager at Slidell Memorial Hospital, Slidell, LA; and most recently serving as a consultant with AT&T Mobility in Simpsonville, SC. He is survived by his daughters, Gail Buchanan Clamp (Calvin) and Cindy Buchanan Orris (Adam) and three grandchildren, Cameron and Katie Clamp and Brandon Orris, all of Aiken, SC. He is also survived by special friends who were so attentive to him, as well as his devoted shih-tzu, Reggie. A private family service will be held at a later date.
