Kenneth Lane King, age 75, of Anderson, SC, husband to the late Frances Marion "Pollie" King, passed away Saturday, August 14, 2021, at Cottingham Hospice House. Born August 23, 1945, in Anderson, SC, he was the son of the late Bub Cornelius King and Elizabeth McIntyre Webb. Kenneth worked as a delivery driver for National Linen Service where he later retired. He loved the Clemson Tigers, and all music genres. He was Alumni of the Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School and enjoyed attending the reunions. He was a member of Marathon Church in Powdersville, SC, where he served as a greeter welcoming the many people as they arrived for church. He is survived by his sister, Sue Evans (Rudy) of Anderson, SC; brothers, Jerry King (Sondra), and Mike King (Carol), both of Charleston, SC, and Bill King (Pat) of Schaumberg, IL; and daughter, Kara Wardlaw of New York. In addition to his parents, and loving wife Pollie, he was preceded in death by an infant brother, Johnny Douglas King. The family will receive friends Saturday, August 21, 2021, from 2:00 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. at The McDougald Funeral Home. The memorial service will follow visitation in the Chapel at 3:30 p.m. with family members officiating. The family will be at their respective homes. The family wishes to thank the staff at Cottingham Hospice House; his good friend, Jackie Blakeney; and his many friends at Peachtree Senior Village for their love and care shown to Kenneth.
