Kenneth Pruitt McGee, age 83, a life-long resident of Starr, SC, passed away Thursday, June 2, 2022, at AnMed Health Medical Center. He was born April 27, 1939, in Starr, and was a son of the late Wayne Liddell McGee and Frances Pruitt McGee. Kenneth was in the first graduating class of Crescent High School, Class of 1957, and attended Clemson University. He spent his life as a farmer and was retired from the Army Reserves. He was a mason and member of Hermon Lodge 116 and was a faithful member of Starr Baptist Church where he formerly served as a deacon and Chairman of the Board of Deacons. Kenneth loved his family dearly. He is survived by his wife, Beverly Hughes McGee; sons, Kenneth Pruitt McGee, Jr. (Jannie), Andrew Carroll "Andy" McGee, Jason Thomas McGee (Amber), and Philip Hughes McGee (Sheila); and five grandchildren, Elisha Colt McGee, Cason Thomas McGee, Clayton Pruitt McGee, Landon Masters McGee, and Emma Bexley McGee. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Cynthia Hunnicutt McGee; and brother, Dr. Wayne Liddell McGee, Jr. and his wife Jacqueline Floyd McGee. A graveside service will be held Saturday, June 4, 2022, at 11:00 am at Starr Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Tony Howell officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Starr Baptist Church, P.O. Box 137, Starr, SC 29684.
