NICHOLSNovember 20, 1934 - September 10, 2007ANDERSON, SCMr. Kenneth Donnell Nichols, age 72, husband of Ruth Viola Vaughn Nichols of 825 South McDuffie Street, Anderson, SC, died Monday, September 10, 2007 at the AnMed Health Medical Center in Anderson, SC.Born in Anderson, SC on November 20, 1934, Mr. Nichols was a son of the late Elbert Earl Nichols and Omah Josephine Shope Nichols. He was retired from textiles and was the Owner & Administrator of Starlite Residential Homes, which was opened in 1958 by his mother, Omah. Mr. Nichols served in the United States Army as an artillery sharp shooter and specialist in arms. He graduated from Tri-County Technical College. He was also a direct decedent to General Robert Anderson, founder of Anderson, SC. He was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, East Congregation. Survivors include his wife of the home; son, Dr. Stephen Nichols and his wife, Janice of Hartwell, GA; daughter, Charisse Darlene Wallace and her husband, Tommy of Belton, SC; step-son, Michael Copeland of Anderson, SC; sister, Juanita Murphy and her husband, Joe of Belton, SC; sister-in-law, Linda Nichols of Anderson, SC; six grandchildren, Christopher Wayne Nichols, Homicide Detective & Translator of Athens, GA; Johnathon Nichols and Daniel Nichols, both of Elberton, GA, Jennifer Sutherland of Williamston, SC, Kristin W. Queen & Rebecca Wallace, both of Belton, SC; two step-grandchildren, Shane Copeland of Belton, SC and Falon Copeland of Anderson, SC. Seven great-grandchildren also survive.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Dale Nichols and a brother, Jackie Aaron Nichols.The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, September 13, 2007 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home.
