Kevin Del Whitacre, 59, of Williamston, SC, passed away Thursday, August 22, 2019 at his home. Born August 13, 1960 in Anderson, he was the son of the late Walter Ray Whitacre and Doris Carpenter Whitacre. Kevin was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and was a truck driver for Carolina Auto Auction. He is survived by his wife, Martha Porter Whitacre; son, Walter Ray Whitacre II of Travelers Rest; daughters in law, Faith Umland of Travelers Rest and Christy Maynard of Walhalla; sisters, Darlene Whitacre and Penny Jackson both of Starr; three grandchildren, Jonathan Whitacre, Brandon Whitacre and Kevin C. Whitacre. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Robert Del Whitacre; brother Randall Whitacre; and sister Wanda Cox. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Saturday, August 24, 2019 at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will be in the chapel on Sunday, August 25th at 3:30pm with Rev. Tony Hawkins officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will be at the residence. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family.
