Kurt Robert Richard Kirchhof, age 90, passed away on Thursday, April 14, 2016, at his residence. Born inVarnsdorf, Czechoslovakia, on February 1, 1926, he was the son of the late Josef Kirchhof and the late Maria Springer Kirchhof. During his career, he was the plant manager at Garadset and sales and site manager at Liba. Kurt enjoyed tinkering and working with his hands and would find a way to fix everything. He also enjoyed music, playing the piano, and dancing. Kurt was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He is survived by two sons, Reinhard Kirchhof and his wife Janet, of Howell, NJ and Christopher Kirchhof and his wife Birgit, of Howell, NJ; two grandchildren, Richard Allen Kirchhof and Matthew James Kirchhof; and one great-grandson, Richard Lawrence Kirchhof. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Hildegard Sieglinde Kirchhof; and two sisters, Charlotte Kirchhof Bendel and Gertrude Kirchhof Brettschneider. The Funeral Service will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Monday, April 18, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. Entombment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends at the church, prior to the service on Monday, from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Kurt's name to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
