Lalage Jo Hart, age 88, went home to be with the Lord on October 25, 2016. She was born on April 23, 1928 to the late Simeon Shaw Whitehead and Maude Thurmond Whitehead in Oconee County, GA. She was a member of Eureka Baptist Church. She loved gardening, fishing, and was a great cook. She will be greatly missed by her family, and all that knew her. Lalage is survived by her son, O.O. Hart, Jr. and his wife Deborah, of Iva, SC; daughters, Ledia Kahler and her husband Scott, of Anderson, Cindy Hart and her husband Gary, of Belton, Karen Coe of Anderson; a step-daughter, Debbie James, of Anderson a sister, Lou Nell Bell, of Athens, GA; 15 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, O.O. Hart, Sr.; sons David Hart, and Michael Hart; a sister, Milly Whitehead and brothers, Juan, Gene, Randall, and Patrick Whitehead. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 28, 2016, at 3:00 p.m. at Eureka Baptist Church with Pastor John Christmas and Reverend Sam Duncan officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Mrs. Hart will be placed in the church at 2:00 p.m. The family will be at the home and will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home Thursday, October 27, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Flowers will be accepted.
