Lamar Winford Alexander, age 77, of Anderson, SC, passed away Saturday, October 7, 2023, at AnMed Medical Center.

Born May 19, 1946, in Anderson, he was a son of the late Noah Winford Alexander and Grace Mathe Bryant Frady. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Joann Lanier.

Lamar was the owner and operator of Alex's Gutter Services. He was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church and a lifetime member of Hiram Masonic Lodge. He loved classic cars and Clemson football but loved his family most of all. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn Patricia "Pat" Watt Alexander; daughters, Leigh Alexander (Bruce) and Rhonda Bargiol (Mark) both of Anderson, SC; brothers, Mike Alexander (Sue) of Solomon, KS, and Neil Alexander of Seneca, SC; sister, Linda Grant (Ray) of Anderson, SC; and granddaughters, Alexis Turner (Wesley) of Mauldin, SC, Sarah Smith (Eddie) of Belton, SC, and Mackenzie Alexander of Anderson, SC.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at 1:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Dr. Glen Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service at 12:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hiram Masonic Lodge #68, PO Box 475, Anderson, SC 29622.
