Lawrence William Artman, age 71, of 402 Woodfern Circle passed away peacefully on Monday, October 1, 2007 at his home surrounded by his family.Born in East Liverpool, Ohio on September 11, 1936, he was a son of the late William Jacob Artman and Bella Mae Stevenson Artman. Throughout Mr. Artman's life, he pursued a love of being an avid brace beagler. In 2003, he was inducted into the National Beagle Breeders Hall of Fame. His personal breed-line, Art-Line, produced eighteen field champions ' two of which were inducted into the Beagle Producers Hall of Fame. Mr. Artman retired from both True Temper and Tenneco Automotive. He was of the Christian faith. Mr. Artman is survived by his wife, Ann Lewis Artman of the home; children: Sandy Bannister and husband, Randall of Anderson, Don Artman and wife, Whitney of Anderson, Becky Morgan and husband, John of Fletcher, NC, Steven Artman and wife, Heidi of Anderson, and Doug Artman and wife, Julie of Anderson; brother, Thomas Artman of Dayton, OH; twelve grandchildren and two great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Artman was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Artman and an infant daughter, Lori Ann Artman.A Private Graveside Service will be held at 2:00pm on Wednesday, October 3, 2007 at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens with the Reverend Wayne Toye officiating.The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00pm until 8:00pm on Tuesday, October 2, 2007.
