Larry Dean Ashley, age 78, of 707 Highway 185 North, Honea Path, passed away at National Health Care of Anderson on Friday, May 27, 2016. Born on December 28, 1937, in Abbeville County, he was the son of the late Humphreys Ashley and the late Pencie Fisher Ashley. For over 59 years he was the loving and devoted Christian husband of Nancy Pruitt Ashley of the home. He was a graduate of Dixie High School in Due West and was a member of Keowee Baptist Church, Honea Path. In addition to his wife, Nancy, Larry is survived by three daughters, Cindy A. Hall (Stanley), Vickie A. Bowie (Lewis), and Renee A. Harbin, all of Honea Path; a brother, Roddey D. Ashley (Gwen) of Honea Path; five grandchildren, Rev. Heath Bowie (Denise), Heather Cox (Jimmy), Specialist Matthew Hall, US Army, (Andrea), Chris Hall, and Ashley Rollins (Stephen); four great-grandchildren, Kaleigh Bowie, Corley Cox, Paisley Cox, Dylan Hall; three step-great grandchildren, Michael, Todd, and Donovan Brock. The funeral service to celebrate the life of Larry Ashley will be held on Sunday, May 29, 2016, at 4 p.m. at Keowee Baptist Church, Honea Path, with Rev. Tony Lee, Rev. Heath Bowie, and Rev. Jerry Mize officiating. Interment will follow at Keowee Baptist Church Cemetery.
