Robert Larry Black, age 78, passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at the Rainey Hospice House. Born in Central, SC, on October 15, 1938, he was the son of the late Remus and Nellie Martin Black. He served in the National Guard and retired from Owens Corning Fiberglas. Larry was a faithful member of Homeland Park Baptist Church where he was an active Deacon and served on several committees as well as sang in the choir. He is survived by his loving wife, Ellen Carter Black; his daughter, Wendy Black Laird, her husband Clifford, and their three children, Bethany, Amberly, and Carly, all of Summerville, SC; and a sister, Mary Alice Dickson and her husband, Jim, of Pendleton, SC. The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, January 17, 2017, at Homeland Park Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend James Strickland and Reverend Leonard C. Carter officiating. Entombment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
