Larry Joe Garland, 77, of Pendleton, SC passed away Monday, January 24, 2022, at AnMed Health Care Center. Born October 15, 1944, in Oconee County, SC, he was a son of the late Earl and Pearl Gillespie Garland. He was the faithful and devoted husband for 58 years to the late Linda Pelfrey Garland until her death December 1, 2021. Larry retired from LaFrance Industries after 32 years then joined Custom Synthesis Chemical Company. He was a member of LaFrance Church of God. He always attended church and served in many leadership roles over the years. He loved people, talking, singing and his Savior. Larry loved to laugh and had an infectious smile he shared with everyone. He treasured his family, especially the grandchildren and great grands. There is no doubt he is smiling and strolling over Heaven with Linda and their daughter, Wanda. Larry is survived by son, Joe Garland (Connie); daughter, Rhonda Stewart (Bobby); sister Joan Durham (Tony); grandchildren, Amber and Cody, Kayla and Terry, Rebekah and Joey, Jonathan and Katherine, Zachary, and Nicholas; and great grandchildren, Chloe, Kylie, Eli, Maddison, Grady, Colton, Aracela, Alvin, Gunner, and Sophia. In addition to his parents and wife, he is predeceased by a daughter, Wanda Mitchell and siblings, June Durham, Frankie Garland, Shirley Evans, and Randall Garland. The family will receive friends from 5 pm - 7 pm Friday, January 28, 2022, at LaFrance Church of God. The funeral service will be held at the church at 12 noon, Saturday, January 29, 2022, with Rev. Roger Allison and Rev. Delbert McCall officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens in Clemson.
