James Larry Gilbert, age 68, passed away on Monday, January 4, 2016 at his residence. Born in Travelers Rest, SC, he was the son of the late Ott Gilbert and Alice Evans. He was a retired carpenter. James is survived by his wife, Carol Gilbert; children, Chris Gilbert, Chris Standridge, and Angela Bowen; two brothers, Tommy and Eddie Burton; and four grandchildren, James Bradley Meierholtz, Nikki Meierholtz, Hannah Standridge, and Cody Brown. The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 6, 2016 beginning at 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. A graveside service at Forest Lawn Memorial Park will follow at 3:00 p.m. with Reverend Bruce Chambers officiating.
