Born on June 13, 1935 in Pickens County, SC, Mr. Hendrix was a son of the Late James Walter Hendrix and Bertha Geneva Wimpey Hendrix. He retired from Michelin North America in Sandy Springs. He was a member of Asbury Baptist Church and was a veteran of the United States Navy.Survivors include nine children, Betty S. Langston of Conover NC, Frank Shaw of Seneca, SC, Harold Shaw of Pendleton, SC, Larry Shaw of Sandy Springs, SC, Barbara S. Church of Mauldin, SC, Linda S. Cochran of Sandy Springs, SC, Brenda S. Frye of Sparta, NC, Gary Shaw of Pendleton, SC, Kenneth Shaw of Surfside Beach, SC; sixteen grandchildren, Theresa L. Hefner, Geri L. Blanton, Dale Shaw, Greg Shaw, Debbie S. Crowe, Ricky Shaw, Joey Shaw, Kim C. Hawley, Mike C. Church, Mark C. Church, Ken Cochran, Michele C. Ware, Jeff Cochran, Bobby S. Frye, Andy Shaw, Jimmy Shaw; twenty-six great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; one brother Charles Hendrix and his wife Mickey of Starr, SC; two sisters, Edith DiBenedetto of Pendleton, SC and Dorothy Whitmire of Sandy Springs, SC and several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by three brothers, Marvin, Paul, and William Hendrix; two sisters, Gladys Rogers and Alma Hunnicutt and four grandchildren Tony Shaw, Joe Frye, Kelly Langston, and Micah Shaw.A Graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2006 at 11:00am at Memory Gardens, Clemson, SC with Rev. Fred Griggs officiating.The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Friday, July 21, 2006 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm.`The family is at the residence.Flowers are optional.
