Larry M. 'Turk' James, 76, of Anderson, passed away peacefully at AnMed Health Medical Center on Saturday, August 27, 2016.
Born on September 29, 1939 to the late Willard "Bill" James and Frances Whitten White of Belton. Larry proudly served in Korea as a soldier with the U.S. Army, he later worked as a maintenance electrician at BASF for over 20 years.
Larry was described by all who knew him as a sweet man. He loved his family deeply and was selfless in giving his time. He loved to camp, work outdoors and was always working on a new project. He took good care of his mom who always described him as a "doer".
Survivors include his mother, Frances Whitten White; sister, Linda Bryson and husband D.A. of Daytona, FL; two sons, Brad James and wife Robbie and Stanley James and wife Tonya of Anderson; one daughter, Lisa James Vaughn and husband Tim of Townville; his five grandchildren, Jason, Jennifer, Carissa & Savannah James and Adrie Vaughn as well as a niece, two nephews and many relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father Willard "Bill" James.
The Graveside service will be held at M.J. "Dolly" Cooper Veterans Cemetery on Tuesday, August 30th, 2016 at 12:00 p.m. officiated by Harry Osborne. The family will gather for a time of visitation on Tuesday, August 30th prior to the service at The McDougald Funeral Home from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.
