KNOXJUNE 6, 1943 - July 22, 2010STARR, SC -- Mr. Larry Wayne Knox Sr., 67, of 1400 Sexton Gin Road, Starr, died on Thursday, July 22, 2010, at the Rainey Hospice House in Anderson. Born in Anderson on June 6, 1943, he was the husband of Janice Bromeling Knox, son of the late James Lacel Knox and the late Claris Bruce Knox Gillespie, and the stepson of the late Keith Rutledge Gillespie. He graduated from Boys' High School in Anderson in 1961 and attended Clemson University. He served in the United States Air Force and retired in 2000 from the BASF Corporation after 31 years of service. He was a member of Varennes Presbyterian Church in Iva, South Carolina. He was a loving husband and father.Survivors include his wife, Janice B. Knox; son, Larry Wayne Knox Jr.; son, James Lacel Knox; daughter, Stacy Patricia Knox; six grandchildren; sister, Barbara Knox Whitlow; brother, Samuel B. Knox. He was predeceased by his father, mother, stepfather, and brother, James Lacel Knox Jr.The family will receive friends from 3:00 pm until 4:15 pm on Sunday, July 25, 2010, at The McDougald Funeral Home.
