Larry Gene McLeod, age 82, of Anderson, SC, passed away on Sunday, April 20, 2025, at Rainey Hospice House.

Born October 4, 1942, in Anderson, SC, he was the son of the late Jack Preston McLeod and Georgia Eberhart McLeod. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Lamar McLeod.

Larry was a devoted husband, father, and Papa who loved his family, his "home", and his dog Trooper. He was a member of Riverside Baptist Church. Larry retired from Singer/Ryobi and was also a drill sergeant in the Army Reserves. He enjoyed camping with his family, classic cars, and working with his hands.

He is survived by his wife, Allene Mitchell McLeod; children, Tracy McLeod Kay (Scott) and Stephen McLeod (Regan) both of Anderson; and grandchildren, MacKenzie G. Kay, Carson McLeod, and Dalton McLeod all of Anderson, SC.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 24, 2025, from 12:00-12:45 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 pm in the Chapel with Pastor Wayne Adams officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
