Laura Doyle Carpenter, 87, of Anderson, SC, died at Rainey Hospice House on Friday, June 2, 2023. Born August 6, 1935, in Anderson, SC, she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Hazel Doyle. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Grady S. Carpenter and four brothers, Cary Calhoun Doyle Sr., Reverend Clay Doyle, Oscar "Tiny" Doyle, Jr., and Charles Doyle. Laura was a graduate of Anderson College and worked for many years at St. John's Kindergarten. She retired from Anderson School District 5 as a computer lab assistant. She is survived by a son, Doyle Carpenter and his wife Judy, and several loving nieces, nephews, and friends. The funeral service will be held Friday, June 23, 2023, at 2:00 pm at M.J. Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Rainey Hospice House, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC, 29621.
