Laura Virginia Rutledge Mize, age 97, of Belton, peacefully went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, September 25, 2018. Born September 9, 1921, in Belton, she was a daughter of the late Jessie Prince and Ruby Eugenia Ellison Rutledge. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Arthur Mize; brother, James Rutledge and sister, Dorothy Cothran. Laura was a graduate of Belton High School. She was a homemaker and worked as an AVON representative for approximately 50 years. She was a member of Eureka Baptist Church, where she taught the 1st grade Sunday school for over 45 years and was an active member in WMU. She is survived by her son, Danny Mize and his wife, Sidney of Anderson; daughter, Ruby Nell Mize Wooten of Anderson; brother, Billy Rutledge of Belton; sisters, Elizabeth Wilson and Gladys Roach, both of Belton; grandchildren, Missy Mize Jensen and her husband, Bill, Lisa Wooten and Crystal Wooten; great-grandchildren, Hope, Jake and Ryan Jensen. The family would like to thank special friends and caregivers, Judy Tilley and Diane Brock for the love shown Mrs. Mize in her illness. The family will receive friends on Friday, September 28, 2018, from 1 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. at Eureka Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. in the sanctuary with Reverend Ron Fousek officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
