Rice, age 89, of Newark, OH, passed away on Saturday, April 20, 2013 at Autumn Care Center, in Ohio. She was born on December 10, 1929 in Royston, GA to the late Linzy Franklin and Thora Anderson Patrick. Laura attended Christ United Methodist Church in Newark. She loved working in her flower beds and taking care of her beloved pets. She is survived by a niece, Revonda Campbell of Conyers, GA; a son-in-law, Richard Wolever of Granville; and a long- time friend, Wayne C. (Seanne) Layton of Newark. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles G. Rice in 2000; and her daughter, Gail Wolever in 2011. A Funeral Service for Laura will be held on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Wednesday from 12:00 pm until 1:30 pm.
