LAURA TERRY RICHARDSON September 13, 1913 - October 14, 2012 Laura Terry Anderson Richardson, age 99, of 250 Church Street, Pendleton, died Sunday, October 14, 2012, at the Ellenburg Nursing Center, Anderson. Born in Elbert County, GA, she was a daughter of the late Oscar Y. Terry and the late Katherine Burden Terry. For many years she was married to the late Charles L. Anderson until his death in 1966. She later became the devoted wife of the late Horace Richardson until his death in 1975. Mrs. Richardson was associated with Gossett Mills/LaFrance Regal Textiles where she was a textile operator. She was recognized for earning several zero defect awards. She retired after 50 years of faithful service with Regal Textiles. Mrs. Richardson loved to crochet and was an avid collector of salt and pepper shakers. Travel was one of her passions. Laura was a devoted and faithful member of First Baptist Church of Pendleton as long as her health permitted. Although she outlived most of her family, she is survived by two grandsons, Michael Bowman and his wife, Joyce, of Crestview, FL, and Paul Sears and his wife, Joyce, of Pendleton; a niece and companion Betty Kelley of the home; 1 great-granddaughter Angela Baker of Milton, FL; several additional great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She will be sorely missed by her family, friends and all who knew her. In addition to her parents and former husbands, Mrs. Richardson was preceded in death by a daughter, Rachel Helen Hunnicutt Landers, step-daughter Myrtle Sears and 3 additional step-daughters, 4 step-sons; brothers Henry Clay, Roy Paul, and James Elmer Terry; and sisters Georgia Mae Terry and Ida Sue Pitts; a grandson David Sears and granddaughter Francis Sears. A service to celebrate the life of Laura Richardson will be held on Thursday, October 18, 2012, at the Graveside, First Baptist Church Cemetery, Pendleton at 2 PM, with Rev. Courtney Krueger and Rev. Jennifer McClung officiating. The family will be at the residence and will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Thursday from 11 AM until 1 PM.
