He was a United States Marine Corps veteran during the Vietnam War. He was a retired contractor and his latest project was Superintendent of the Chiquola Condominium Project, Downtown Anderson. Mr. Marcie was the co-owner of Kiddie Land Child Care where he was affectionately known as 'Papa Larry'. In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by sons; Michael Marcie and his wife, Ann and William Marcie and his wife, Catherine, of Anderson and sisters, Carol Orloff of Marble, NC and Gloria Sellers of Waynesville, NC. He is also survived by a grandson, Nicholas Marcie and a granddaughter, Madison Marcie.The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2009 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home officiated by the Reverend Jerry Chapman. Entombment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 6-8 pm.The family will be at the home of his son, Michael Marcie, 605 Boulevard, Anderson, SC.Flowers are optional.
