Lee Murlin Carey, Jr., age 80, of Anderson, SC, passed away Friday, June 25, 2021, at Heartland Healthcare Center East. Born February 24, 1941, in Anderson, SC, he was the son of the late Lee Murlin Carey, Sr. and Lottie Dickerson Carey. He proudly served his country in the United States National Guard and was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Temple. He is survived by his children Jody Lee Carey, and Tracie Rene Patten; sisters, Barbara C. Wilson (Junior), and Robin C. Garrison; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchilden. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Vera Joyce Franks; and grandmothers, Sally Carey, and Susie Dickerson. The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 30, 2021, from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow visitation in the Chapel on Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Sam Duncan officiating. Burial will follow at New Silver Brook Cemetery.
