OBITUARY/ FLAGLEE W. MARTINDecember 22, 1929 - August 3, 2008ANDERSON, SCLee Waymon Martin, age 78 of 3332 Berry Lane, passed away in the loving care of Hospice of the Upstate, Sunday, August 3, 2008 after a brief illness. A loving husband, caring father and friend to all, our Heavenly Father has called him home. He attended Unity Baptist church, as his health permitted. At home he enjoyed listening to the Gospel and singing the old gospel hymns. As a member of the United States Armed Forces, Mr. Martin served his country in Korea during the Korean War. After a disabling accident, Mr. Martin retired from Owens-Corning Firberglas where he was employed as a welder.He leaves behind his beloved wife, Frankie Martin, and his three children, Connie White, of Spartanburg, Jimmy Martin, of Anderson, and Diane Ange, of Townville. He is also survived by his brother, Clarence Martin of Anderson. He has nine grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren he loved as much as his own children.He was predeceased by his parents, Lee Johnson Martin and Lillie Mae Brewster Martin; a brother, John Junior Martin, and sister, Levia Mae McAlister.Funeral services will be held at in The McDougald Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, August 5, 2008 at 3:00 pm. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with Military Honors provided by Upstate Veterans Honor Guard.The family will receive friends on Monday, August 4, 2008 from 7:00 until 9:00 pm at the funeral home.The family will be at the residence.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mr. Martin's memory, to The Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621.A message of condolence may be sent to the family by visitingwww.mcdougaldfuneralhome.comThe McDougald Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
