Obituary

Lee Nathaniel Patterson, of Anderson, SC, formerly of Pickens, went to glory on August 9, 2022. Born January 2, 1939 in Chester, SC, he was the son of the late Rev. L.R. Patterson and Myrtle Scroggs Patterson. Lee was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He proudly served our country in the Air Force from 1957-1961. He was an avid golfer, singer and traveled the United States and Canada enjoying big game hunting. He was known to many as "chicken man" after years of being the owner of LeJuans restaurant in Pickens. Lee was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Juanita McElhannon Patterson; children, Tony Patterson (Kim), Kelly Elrod (Michael), and Kevin Patterson (Heather); four grandchildren, Mary Catharine Wiemels (Brad), Bryce Elrod, Abigayle Elrod, and Walker Patterson; youngest brother, James Patterson (Marilyn); and sister-in-law, Brenda Patterson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Willard Patterson, Horace Patterson, Frank Patterson, Rachel Patterson, Charles Patterson, Glenn Patterson, and Wanda Patterson. The family will receive friends Friday, August 12, 2022, from 1:30 to 2:30 pm at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. The funeral service will begin at 3:00 pm with Rev. Chad Campbell officiating. A committal service will be held Friday, August 19, 2022 at 1:00 pm at M.J. Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery with Rev. Dennis Stone officiating.
