Leigh Ellen Holroyd, born July 31, 1966, passed away on September 27, 2022 from long-standing health issues. She was predeceased by her parents Robert Frank Holroyd and Mary Ellen Findley Holroyd. She is survived by her brother Robert Frank Holroyd, Jr., sister Mary Lisa Holroyd Castro, brother-in-law Andrew Scott Castro, nephew John Robert Castro, and niece Megan Nicole Castro. Leigh had an incredible love of music and learned to play many instruments, including the flute, piano, and xylophone. During her high school years in Lumberton, NC, she taught private flute lessons and was active in the band and church bell choir. After high school, she worked and then returned to school, earning her Bachelor's degree from Anderson University and working towards her Masters at Clemson University. In addition to her love of music, Leigh loved cooking, the beach, Jimmy Buffet, and trivia. A service will be held at The McDougald Funeral Home on October 8, 2022 at 10:00am with Rev. Dwight Greene officiating. Following the service, there will be a coffee and social in The McDougald Family Center. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Chestnut Street United Methodist Church, 200 E. Eighth Street, Lumberton, NC 28358.
