Lenard John Flynn, 84, devoted husband of Betty "Jo" Flynn, passed away on Sunday, May 13, 2018 at his residence. Born in Port Jervis, NY on May 5, 1934, Lenard was the son of the late John Stephen and Genevive Viola Hughson Flynn. He proudly served his country in the United States Army serving in the Korean War. He graduated from Lee Edward High School in Asheville, NC, and then attended N.C. State University earning his Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering. For many years he was the owner of Material Management Inc. in Powdersville, SC. Lenard was an avid golfer, and he attended Covenant Baptist Church. In addition to his wife Betty "Jo", Lenard is survived by his daughter, Mary Lenard Hall of Anderson, SC; step-son, Michael Bridges (Cindy) of Anderson, SC; step-daughter, Sandra Barrett of Anderson, SC; sister, Joan Hubbard of Asheville, NC; seven grandchildren, Austin, Garrett, and Kelsey Jones, Dakota Flynn, Lauren Capelli, and Shane and Sasha Barrett; and five great-grandchildren, Aurora Streeb, Tyler Barrett, Copeland Capelli, and Piper and Charlie Jones. In addition to his parents, Lenard was predeceased by his son, Terrell Vance Flynn. A Graveside Service will take place at Forest Lawn Memorial Park on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at 12:00 noon with Rev. Steve Silvey officiating. The family will receive and greet friends following the service.
