Leocadia Zyfrieda "Cay" Curran, age 97, of Anderson, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at Morningside of Anderson.

Born on January 15, 1928, in Schenectady, New York, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Theodore Bilewicz and Maria Koziol Bilewicz. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard John Curran; her infant son; her brother, Roger Bilewicz; and her sister, Virginia Parker.

Cay was known for her kindness, intelligence, and especially her warm and playful sense of humor. She took great joy in her family, which remained the central focus of her life. A devoted mother to seven children, she was also a proud and deeply involved grandmother, great-grandmother, and great great grandmother to her 14 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.

Her Christian faith was an important part of her life. A committed Christian, Cay expressed her faith quietly through generosity, compassion, and service to others.

She is survived by her children: Richard, Kathleen (Randy), Timothy (Cathleen), Constance, Patricia (Matt), Joseph (Lenys), and Robert (Laura).

A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, February 13, 2026, at 12:30 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1200 Cornelia Road, Anderson, SC 29621, with Father Philip Gillespie as celebrant. Internment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, 2323 Hwy 81 N Anderson, SC 29621.

The family requests no flowers, and suggests memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church and School, 1200 Cornelia Road, Anderson, SC 29621.

Cay will be remembered for her warmth, her wit, her unforgettable laugh, her steady faith, and the deep love she had for her family—qualities that will continue to live on in those who knew her."
