Leon M. Meredith, age 92, of Anderson, SC, passed away Thursday, March 31, 2022 at Summit Place of Anderson. Born October 27, 1929, in Anderson, he was the son of the late Jesse Calhoun Meredith and MaryEllen Glenn Meredith. He was married to the late Bertie Lou Gilreath Meredith. Leon was a veteran of the United States Army and was the owner of many businesses throughout his career. He was a Mason and enjoyed bluegrass music and antique cars. He was a member of Beaverdam Baptist Church. He is survived by his son, Tony Meredith of Fair Play, SC; daughter, Pam M. Boswell of Anderson, SC; brother, Milton Meredith (Mary) of Anderson; grandchildren, Robbie Cobb (Kelly) of Powdersville, SC, Meredith Merritt (Nicholas) of Greenville, SC, and Judson Boswell of Anderson, SC; and great grandchildren, Maddox Merritt, MacLaine Merritt, Maguire Merritt, and Hudson Cobb. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Lake, Joe, Clayton, and Jack Meredith; and sisters, Sue Isbell and Arnetta Madden. The family will receive friends Monday, April 4, 2022, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service be held at 2:30 pm at Beaverdam Baptist Church with Rev. Calvin King officiating. The family will also receive friends at the church at 2:00 pm prior to the start of the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
