Leon Pearson, age 78, of Honea Path, SC, passed away Thursday, April 24, 2014 in his home. Born in Greenville, SC on March 15, 1937, he was the son of the late Russell and Sarah Lou Pearson. He was a member of Cross Hill Church of God and had retired from BASF. He is survived by his wife: Sara H. Pearson of the home, daughter; Sherry Boyter (Phillip) of Lavonia, GA, son; Kevin Pearson (Theresa) of Anderson, grandchildren; Crystal Smith (Mark), Jason Estes (Shanna), Dorie, Caroline, Benjamin and Nicholas Pearson, great-grandchildren; Sarah, Jackson and Grayson Smith, one brother Robert Earl Pearson of Belton, two sisters; Brenda Walker of Belton and Lynethia Pearson of Piedmont, SC, brother-in-law; William R. Pearson of Honea Path, SC. In addition to his parents he was preceeded in death by a brother; Miles Pearson. The Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, April 27, 2014 at 2:30 p.m. at Cross Hill Church of God with the Rev. John Christmas and Pastor Phillip Sears officiating. Burial will follow in The Garden of Memories in Belton. The family is at the residence and will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Saturday, April 26, 2014 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
