ERWINSTARR, SCLeonard Franklin 'Pa' Erwin, age 82, husband of Frances Lollis Erwin of Starr, was called home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 21, 2011 at the Rainey Hospice House.Born in Ben Hill County, GA on July 3, 1928, Mr. Erwin was a son of the late Will Erwin and Fannie Wafford Erwin. He was employed with Wood Heating and Air Conditioning for over 35 years and was also a carpenter. He was an ordained minister and evangelist. He was a member of the House of Prayer. He is survived by his wife of the home; sons, Frankie Erwin and his wife, Linda of Anderson and Danny Erwin and his wife, Betty of Loris, SC; daughters, Joann E. Vangieson of Anderson, Mitzi Smith and her husband Bo of Williamston and Karen McCurley and her husband Tony of Starr; 11 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Bob Erwin and two sisters, Christine Whitfield and Louise Maddox.The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, March 24, 2011 at 2:30 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home officiated by the Reverends Jerry Nations, Mike Harold and Alma Yates. Interment will follow in South Lawn Memorial Gardens.The family will be at the residence and will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm.Flowers are optional.
