Levis Austin Campbell, 76, of Iva, SC, passed away Saturday, January 23, 2021, at NHC. Born in Anderson, SC, on August 20, 1944, he was the son of the late Barney Austin Campbell and Hazel Whitman Campbell. Levis retired from the National Guard after 21 years of service and worked as a security officer for Jackson Mill and Clark Shewebel. He was a member of Iva Church of God. Levis spent his free time hunting rabbits or fishing. He loved being outdoors and fishing with his buddy, Jerry. They shared many stories and solved all sorts of problems while fishing on the river. He especially enjoyed the Town of Iva. Levis had a kindred spirit with the Iva community and almost daily, he could be found at the Iva Caf. He believed in Faith, Family, Country, and doing the right thing. Even though he had a strong military career, Levis had a soft spot for those that he loved. He was jovial, yet strict and he was very proud of his family. He is survived by his son, Shayne Campbell (Danielle) of Cross Hill and Martina Campbell Garron of Clinton; sisters, Sherard Campbell of Charleston, June Cobb and Nancy Sanders of Anderson; niece raised in the home, Carolyn Powell; and grandchildren, Christopher Wilkes, Brianna Campbell-Raley, Chase Wilkes, Silas Garron, and Jasper Garron. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Jane Campbell. A Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, January, 27, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Iva City Cemetery. The family will greet family and friends following the service.
